it was the rockers hitting against themselves their was no oil to lubracate them your lucky you didnt blow the engineNeed help no oil car is tappigf and knocking?
yes it is your engine dientegrating .. an engine cannot run without oil.. the oil protects the critical engine parts from rubbing metal to metal.. now, your engine has already started rubbing against itself and it is ruined..sorry for the bad news.
try adding oil if that stops it then consider yourself lucky.If it doesn't then you've got major problems and need to spen quite i bit of $$$
The tapping is from cooked oil in the lines to the valves. When you put a cleaner in it like mystery oil also use some STP . You have an old engine and 5-30 is thin and will not last. That was a paraffin oil I will bet. Now add half a quart of synthetic multi grade like 20-50 or 15-40. In the summer use a thicker grade and always add some synthetic to the regular oil.
Once you here the nose its too late take it to a garage.

and keep a better eye on your oil level
Hello sir hereafter please see the oil level and the radiator water level before starting the car in the morning and top up if necessary at once.Please keep half litre of oil in your car always for this purpose. If there is no oil first the connecting rod and main rod bearings would have got heated and the engine would have seized. After it gets cooled it will restart again. But dont start ur car in this condition either toe your car to the nearest authorised workshop and check the engine. i think there will not be big problems with the engine. At times the selfmotor also gets running along with the flywheel.Please check it also. Wish u all the best
Odds are if you ran it without oil for too long, you now have a scored crankshaft and the bearings are shot. Plan on either a sizable bill for some engine work or just replacing the whole engine. I bet you check your oil level more often now.
What...no one ever told you to check the oil once a week??? This will be an expensive mistake%26gt;
need to know what engine it is it could be a collapsed lifter or broken rocker or push rod or piston knock or a stuck valve
That sound is your engine dying! Plan on a new car for Christmas. Major repair.
If you ran it low on oil, it probably now has crankshaft and bearing wear-damage. Big $
