Synthetic Oil in old car?

I bought a used car and i have no idea what kind of oil was put in it. I got the oil changed and put normal in.

Is it worth to switch to synthetic, i have heard that synthetic is only good if you use it from the start.

ThanksSynthetic Oil in old car?
That's not True, synthetic oil is the best oil you can get for your car. And the # 1 best oil is Mobil 1 Higher Mileage 10w30 for you car. Also to better benefit by using Lucas oil stabilizer which will seal the combustion chamber and prevent leaks while the Mobil 1 lubricates your cam shaft pistons and bearing.Synthetic Oil in old car?
synthetic or mineral oils, used to be that synthetic oil would leak more then mineral because it would swell the seals like mineral oils would but that has been corrected in the past few years and you can switch back and forth at your convenience. i prefer synthetic blends myself and i drive an older car.
As long as you change your oil on time, there really should be no need for synthetic. Also depending on the mileage and how old, seals tend to start leaking when using synthetic on older vechicles.Change the fluids regularly and you should be fine.
use it if you want...but new cars with good gaskets/seals now use 5 w even 0 w 30 too thin for old cars...use 10w 30....its fine to use....change at 5 or 6K if your gona change at 3K save ur money and use regular....changing synthetic at 3K is waste of oil/money
You should use Motorcraft semi-synthetic oil. It works like synthetic and costs about 2.49 at Walfart.
