Changing oil in the car?

assitance or adviseChanging oil in the car?
the most important thing is when changing oil is to make sure that you put the right amount of oil and not more

also try to put in the same kind of old oil

if oil was to dirty when changed then change the filter before changing the filter use a engine cleaner that you add to the engine so it will clean the rest of the old oil

ARE YOU DOING IT ALL BY YOUR SELF

HAVE YOU EVER DONE IT BY YOURSELFChanging oil in the car?
i'm old fashioned and believe you look after a car it looks after you. i change at 1500 miles or 2500 k (approx) with a good quality oil like pennzoil or quakerstate. use a good filter and change it each time i recomend fram. why change your oil and not the filter? some people do. it's like sh itting your pants taking a shower and putting on the same pants. i also recomend heavier oil 10w30 not 5w 30 as most places put in . then assuming you have a filter wrench and socket set drive your car up the ramps or jack it up, put a cinder block under the frame for safety in case of slippage. place drain pan below oil pan and remove drain plug . while its draining remove filter and wipe around engine where it was with clean cloth. put a drop or 2 of oil on your finger and lubricate the fiter gasket(little trick my late pappa taught me) replace filter til it is tight then back off1/4 turn from the tightest youcan make it. by then oil should be drained. replace drain plug and refill oil. start engine and check for leaks. alls well remove cinder block lower jack or take off the ramps shut off engine let sit at least 45 mins. check to make sure oil level is correct add a little if neccassary and your good to go for anothr 1500 miles or 2-3 months.
if your doing it yourself, it's pretty easy.. you will need a cloth or some towels. a pair of pliers or a wrench. next, you will need to jack the car up a little (in the front). pop the hood and remove the oil cap.should be labled. crawl under the front of the car and find the oil pan. usually about 1 foot x 1 foot or so with a nut on the bottom. get a drain pan cheap from the auto center and a filter designed for your car, they can help you with that, next remove the nut (called a plug also) and let all the oil drain, then remove the filter. oil the top of new filter and screw it on..just snug, the plug should be good and tight. now crawl out and add about 5 courts of oil, check level, cap and drive. good luck!
if u just wanna change the oil of ur auto mobile

1. park it in a plain area, open its drain plug .allow entire oil to drain.

2.close the drain plug .fill 2ltrs of engine cleaner and just crank it for 3 seconds.

3.drain it,leave it to drain for 20 min.close the drain plug .

3.change the old oil filter, replace it with the new one.

4.fill new oil up to the level adviced by the ur auto maker.

u done it ..........plz do this if u r not new 2 automobiles.
I'll give you some of the basics and you can email me for specifics and I'll walk you through it if needed. Things you will (or might need):

1 - New replacement oil filter for your make and model of car.

2 - An oil catch pan.

3 - Rags to wipe your hands.

4 - Wear old clothes because you are likely to get a couple of spatters on yourself.

5 - Socket set to fit oil plug in oil pan.

6 - Funnel that is wide enough and large enough to catch your oil as you put the new oil in, and pour the old oil into a recycling container. If your funnel isn't large enough your oil will out over the top and you will be frustrated.

Remember the funnel is going to tip sideways because of the weight of the oil!

7 - Might need the following: hydraulic jack, one jackstand.

8 - Sufficient number of quarts of oil to fill your engine WITH a filter change. This may be one half of a quart greater than the manufacturers specification, but they should tell you something like ';four quarts for oil change and 4.5 quarts for oil change WITH filter';. If they are not specific then you will have to check once you are done changing the oil and filter. I'll tell you how.

9 - Protective gloves for your hands.

10 - Optional: gel hand cleaner (GoJo, Permatex, generic brand [GoJo is usually the cheapest]).

11 - Oil filter wrench (distinct possibility).

Basic procedure (doesn't cover exactly every step):

1 - Locate oil drain plug on vehicle and see if you can reach it from underneath without jacking the car up. If you can't get to it, try turning the wheel to the right or left until you can reach it.

1A - Park car on level surface and place in park and put on emergency brake.

2 - Assuming you can reach the oil drain plug, loosen with your socket set - or crescent wrench that will work - until it is loose. Do not remove right away.

3 - Place oil catch basin under oil pan, angled such that when you take the plug out and the oil starts pouring in a stream, it goes into the pan and not on the ground. Take a minute to think: Which direction is this oil going to go? Usually if you position the pan halfway under the plug it will drain okay.

4 - Remove oil drain plug by hand the rest of the way. Oil will start to pour into the pan. If you can't move the plug by hand then carefully work your socket or crescent wrench under there and get it out. There is %26gt; 50% chance the oil plug will fall into the oil catch basin. Do not panic. Leave it in there until later.

5 - Open hood on car and leave open. Locate oil fill cap. Remove and set aside usually on air filter cover. This is necessary to allow air to enter the engine cavity and fully drain your oil.

6 - Remove oil filter. This is the hardest part, and you will have to use some of your own judgement. Depending on where the filter is located you will have to get at it from either the top or underneath. Using a rag, grasp the filter tightly and turn to the left to screw it off. Having the oil catch basin under there to catch oil spilling from the filter is optimum. My filters are on hand tight and this is what the manufacturer recommends, but you may have one of those death valley grip filters. In this case you will have to use an oil filter wrench. However you have to get if off you have to get if off. I've omitted some extra tips here because the answer will be too long.

7 - Okay now you should have your oil filter off, your drain plug out, and your oil fill cap off. Now we go backwards.

8 - Find your oil drain plug and make sure it has the washer on it. Fish around in the oil pan if you have to in order to find it. You MUST have the washer on the plug. You MUST.

9 - Reinstall oil drain pan plug and tighten. It doesn't have to be as tight as a lug nut, but it must be tight. No death valley tightening. That's what the copper washer is on there for.

10 - Fill new oil filter 1/2 way up with new oil and spin oil filter around horizontally to work in oil. Lubricate new oil filter rubber gasket with old oil from oil catch basin using your finger. Reinstall oil filter and HAND TIGHTEN to specifications. This is usually 3/4 of a tightening turn once you start to feel resistance. It has to be tight enough or oil will splatter out the seal or it will leak.

11 - Fill up engine with new oil. Replace oil cap.

12 - Check for leaks underneath car. Is oil pouring out anywhere?

13 - Start vehicle and recheck for leaks again immediately. You shouldn't hear any hard knocking coming from the engine and your oil pressure light should not come on. If you hear hard knocking or your oil filter light comes on you shut down the car immediately and find out where the leak is.

14 - After running engine for 2-3 minutes, shut off and check engine oil level using dipstick. Add oil if necessary to raise to fill mark.

15 - Pour your used oil into a recycling container and take to recycling center along with old oil filter. I use old laundry detergent containers to recycle my oil in.

16 - Clean up area of any spilled oil using rag or cat litter to absorb spilled oil.

This procedure doesn't cover every single situation you may run into. Use it as a guide, and have fun.
