Is the Tesla Roadster going to get ';killed'; like the other electric cars by the stupid oil companies?

The Tesla is a big problem for big oil. Since they basically control the government with their puppet of a president, they might try to stop it from being made.Is the Tesla Roadster going to get ';killed'; like the other electric cars by the stupid oil companies?
The Tesla costs 98.000$. The fuel cost is less then 2c/mile.

Based on the average fuel consumption of American cars, which is 27.5 miles per gallon, and the price per gallon, which is 2.23$/gallon, it costs 8.11c to drive an ordinary car 1 mile making the cost of the Tesla to less then 1/4th the fuel cost of ordinary cars.Is the Tesla Roadster going to get ';killed'; like the other electric cars by the stupid oil companies?
Sooo ... you are willing to spend $70,000 on batteries to save $6,000 in gas.

Brilliant, abso-f'in-lutely brilliant!!! Report Abuse

Gee, and to stop polluting the air. What's your health worth grizzbr1? Nevermind, you're obviously brain dead. Report Abuse

No $90,000 dollar car is a big problem for big oil. In fact, no electric car is a big problem for big oil since no electric car today or any electric car likely to be seen in the future is competative with conventional fueled vehicles.

The Tesla for example, costs $90,000 plus and cannot match the performance of a several $70,000 cars. At $3.50/gal, I can buy almost 6,000 gallons of gasoline with the difference. Thats enough to drive over 100,000 miles. I think I'll buy the Porsche, Z06, GT-R.
Electric cars can't have a significant effect on the environment unless the electric power industry thats going to recharge the Tesla stops burning fossil fuel, and I see them moving away from that at a glacier like pace.
Lets see u make it work are u able to do it . The oil co want buy u out.
It has already been ';made';, no one can stop that.

As for commercial production ... if I recall correctly just the batteries in the Tesla cost nearly $70,000 USD.

The Tesla design may die, but it will likely be replaced with better products and designs.
I feel that battery technology is the biggest hurdle for electric vehicles right now. They're big, heavy, expensive, and require a decent amount of maintenance.

Electric motors, speed controllers, and drive systems are great - fewer moving parts than gasoline engines and less maintenance, so its really the area of batteries that needs to see improvement before the electric vehicle industry can really take off.
Stop with the conspiracies. Americans want gasoline powered cars.
