might be engine was hot when i checked it

thanksCar drinking all engine oil ?
Then it can only be that it is burning oil in the combustion chamber. oil gets lost through worn cam followers valve stem seals piston rings and a number of worn engine parts. it could be forcing oil out through a seal or gasket and only under pressure so you will not really see seeping leakage if it is being blown backwards at speed. have a look along your exhaust and get the car above your head on a ramp to examine all signs of oil loss. If it isnt leaking then the engine is burning it.Car drinking all engine oil ?
Since it's not dripping oil, it's burning it. The most common causes are leaky gaskets (such as the oil pan gasket or valve cover gasket). Also check the valve guides and piston rings.

On the expensive side, it could be a head gasket or cracked engine block - this requires the removal and disassembly of the engine to replace a $5 gasket. You will pay the rest (~$2000-4000) in labor.

If that is the case, I'd consider getting a new car.
White smoke usually means a head gasket, the primary cause of water jacket leak. Could be your oil is in the radiator. Check this.

If there is no leak, could be rings or valves, but that would give you blue smoke.

There should be oil on the dipstick cold or hot.
look at the answers to virtually the same question you posted 10 mins ago...they still apply, and you

check engine oil level when the engine is cold, that way instead of the oil being dispersed around the engine, it has settled in the bottom of it

if it did not use oil before you changed it I would say you forgot to put the oil plug in or didn't tighten the filter properly in any case you problem caused some Major damage it would not be the first time something like that ha happened
Looks like your engine needs overhaul.Due to back compression the oil is turned into grease and looks like there is no oil in the chamber.
I note you said no signs of a leak but more importantly was the drain plug still in position or have you lost it because it wasn't tight enough after your service job?
either you have a very bad leak into your cooling system (headgasket) or more likely is your engine is on its last legs.
oil level check ONLY when cold and has to be flatly parked, slight incline won't give a true reading...

I'm no mechanic but Vauxhalls blow head gaskets a lot!!! had 1 Vauxall (never again!!)
Sounds like you need a ring job, probably broken oil rings.
sounds like your head gasket needs replacing,
