Correct oil for my car?

what is the right type of oil for my 1989 golf driverCorrect oil for my car?
A 10-40 motor oil will work just fine. Base on the age of your car, 10-30 would be too thin of motor oil for your car. It will probably smoke. 10-40 will help you overcome the problem to some degree.Correct oil for my car?
10/40 semi synthetic
The type recommended in your owners manual.
Most of the older Golf's take 10/40 but have a look at www.commaoil.com , click on Application guide and find your car on the list. Then it'll tell you exactly what oil for your car.
10-40.

Ja.
10w-30
check the manual, if the milage is high go for a 20/50, halfords have their own brand and it works, no need to use STP
