2007 honda civic, oil life is 60% but i have had the car for over 6 mths, w/ no oil change. Should i get one?

Yes even if you dont drive the car long distances the oil can degrade from short trips. For the cost of an oil change its always better safe than sorry.2007 honda civic, oil life is 60% but i have had the car for over 6 mths, w/ no oil change. Should i get one?
Try taking a peek on the condition of your current engine oil. You'll need a drop of clean engine oil in a bottle to try this test.

After your engine has cooled, remove the engine oil dipstick, clean it off, then dip it back in. Lift it out one more time and let a drop of clean engine oil fall on the dipstick next to your current engine oil. Observe and compare it's appearance.

Does your current engine oil still look transparent like the clean engine oil? If so, no need to get an oil change.

Otherwise, if your current engine oil appears darker with little transparency than the clean engine oil, it might be a good idea to replace your old engine oil.

Hope this helps!2007 honda civic, oil life is 60% but i have had the car for over 6 mths, w/ no oil change. Should i get one?
If you read your owners manual, it says to change the oil every 5000 miles. That is also what the dealership had recommended to me. So that's what I am doing with my oil changes.
in six months (how many miles?) it is about time for an oil change. if you are doing short drives and not getting the engine fully warmed up-definitely do it.

i never let my oil life get below 50%.

have you been checking the level of oil in the engine?
Recommended oil change every 3 months or 3,000 miles. Get an oil change soon otherwise there won't be enough oil lubrication inside your engine and will risk a lot of friction damage.
yeah. and add some lucas oil stabilizer. it works great.
oil is not going to go bad in six months so if you have not driven your car that much you don't have to change it. But oil changes are so cheap it really doesn't hurt to change it more often then the recommended 3000 miles.

i wouldn't put any oil additives in your oil when your car is so new.
that is really up to you even though you have had your car 6 months the oil should be fine for at least 3000 miles but if you want to have the oil changed it will not hurt to do so
