Can you use car oil in a lawn mower of what kind if not?

If your lawn mower has a 4 stroke engine;i.e. Briggs, Kohler, Tecumeh, Honda etc. not two stroke duch as Lawn Boy, then any good 30W oil should be fine. This includes 30W, 10W30,20W30

The purpose of oil in a car and lawnmower is the same: lubricate the crankshaft and other moving parts. As long as the viscosity rating for your lawnmower matches the oil, you are fine.

The only caveat is if your lawnmower is a two stroke. In this case you'll need to get two-stroke engine oil and mix it with the gasoline. Can you use car oil in a lawn mower of what kind if not?
Depends on the type of engine your mower has. Most mowers use regular car oil of the correct viscosity rating. Pull the oil dip stick, on the end you will find numbers stamped into it. They will tell you what type of motor oil to use.
Yes. You can use regular car oil in lawn mowers. Get some 30 weight non-detergent. The oil you will get at Lowe's or Home Depot is two cycle oil that you add to the gas not the crankcase of the mower.
