ok first, my car keeps dying when i slow down or sometimes when i stop, not all the time, i replace the fuel pump and fuel filter, what could this be? also it idles high and when it idles high and you put it in drive it takes off fast, what could this be?
also check motor light was on so my neighboor put it on his computer reader thing and code po302 came and it is missfire in cylinder 2. i took the spark plug out ((brand new too)) and it has a oil smell to it! what is this and how do i fix it? also sometimes check engine light comes on and comes off, how do i get it to stay off? its really buggin me Lol, thank you2 questions, car dieing and oil smell on spark plug?
For the first question, you might want to check the IAC (Idle Air Control) as thats what controls the air flow into your engine at idle. Pretty sure that could be it.
An oil smell huh...hm, not sure about that one. go to autozone and they could help you out with problems like ones your having.2 questions, car dieing and oil smell on spark plug?
what kinda car?-do you have an autozone in your area? Take it there and they will check for free-if its a newer car with a computer it could be a number of things
It depends on whether you can remove the Idle Air Bypass valve, if you can take it apart, you can clean it with carb. spray. Reassemble this and clear the code. This can be done with a scan tool or disconnect the battery for a few minutes.
Do a compression test on all cylinders on that side. The low one can be your problem cylinder. Do this for both sides and compare the readings. Make sure the ignition wire for #2 actually delivers a spark. Use a spark tester.
