Car wont start/oil on spark plugs?

Any ideas? I don't know if since the vehicle wont actually start changes the answer or issue?! I've heard it could be really expensive, what is ';really expensive?'; THANKS

Oh, please only responses if you really know what you're talking about...please! I really need solid info on this problemCar wont start/oil on spark plugs?
Oil on the sparkplugs usually indicates piston ring problems. If your getting oil on the plug tips, you're looking at an engine overhaul.Car wont start/oil on spark plugs?
I will assume you mean oil on the spark plug boots. When a valve or cam cover loosens slightly the o-rings around the spark plug towers leak and fill up the spark plug holes and foul out the spark plug wires. If this is what you mean, you'll need a new gasket and the 4 o-rings which are leaking. Plug wires that are oil soaked for too long will also need replacing. Parts plus 1 to 1.5 hours labor.
There are seals around the rings. If these are cracked or damaged, they will allow the oil to reach the plugs.

If caught in time, they can be replaced without further damage to the rings.

Do Not use plug spacer. (learned the hard way)

If you don't mind getting dirty, remove the cover over the pistons and check the oil inside for grittiness or very small black plastic type material. That's the seals.
are you sure its oil??? Could it be fuel? either way the vehicle will not start if the plugs are fouled.

Heres what you need to do,

Remove the plugs, remove the ignition fuse, crank the engine over many times to push out any fuilds that are in the cylinders. install new plugs, install the ignition fuse. when you attempt to start the engine, hold the gas pedal to the floor until it starts. it is possible you may have a coolant temp. sensor out of range also....try the plugs first though!!
You don't say if the car turns over or not. If it turns over then you have a compression problem. If it won't turn over and a battery jump doesn't get things going you may have a starter motor problem if your battery connections are good. Good luck. Let me know if this is the problem.
Tell me more !! Is this 4,6,8 cyl. Is oil on ALL plugs or just some? Is this oil on the electrodes ? If it's not too bad you can go maybe 2 heat ranges higher on the plugs. Next is a compression check by someone who knows how to diagnose the problem.
You have to be sure whether it is oil or gas on the plugs. If it is gas then it could be a problem with the ignition system (plugs, wires, something loose). If it is oil then something is leaking (could be caused by piston rings--%26gt; means a major engine overhaul, or something worn in the valves/guides in the cylinder head). If the liquid on the plugs is coolant (sweet smelling), then you could have a head gasket problem.

My suggestion would be to check to see of the plugs will spark (when clean), and if not check the igniition system first, then get some new plugs.

If the car hasn't been started for quite a while, sometimes oil will get past the rings when first starting up (fouling the plugs) which means once you get it running the car would be fine.

I'm not a real expert troubleshooter, but I hope this helps.
Is there fresh oil on the plugs or old burnt oil on the plugs?? Have you tried throwing new plug into the car to see what happens? Need more info.
